A rapidly expanding company supplying precision components to the high technology sectors has a new vacancy for a Lead Stress Engineer. Working as part of the senior team you will lead a team of stress engineers to deliver high quality work in support of new product development. You will work closely with the Design, Testing and Certification teams, contribute to CAE product development and carry out risk assessments.
Commutable from: Norwich, Thetford, Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich, Kings Lynn, Great Yarmouth.
Salary: £ 65,000 - £ 80,000 p.a. plus benefits.
Suitable: Stress Engineer, Senior Stress Engineer, FEA Engineer, Lead Engineer, Principal Engineer.
As the Lead Stress Engineer you will be responsible for leading the team generating analysis plans, performing hand calculations and creating Finite Element Models for a wide range of components and assemblies. These will meet modelling guidelines across both Optistruct and RADIOSS solvers.
Skills & Attributes:
Ability to produce high-quality FE models and reports under minimal supervision.
Appreciation of when to apply different methods of CAE.
Knowledge of Physical test protocols associated with stress, structural and occupant analysis
Topology/Topography optimisation using Optistruct.
Experience of stress analysis within the aerospace or automotive industry
Experience of Finite Element Analysis is essential using Radios or equivalent software.
Knowledge of fatigue analysis methods is required.
