Consilium are proudly supporting an innovative and leading manufacturer of precision composite, machined and fabricated parts for the aerospace industry.

We are seeking a Quality Inspector to join the team in support of the businesses continued growth, based in the Lancashire area on a 4-day working week. Applications welcomed from all levels of experience. 


The Role

The Quality Inspector has responsibility for ensuring that parts and processes comply with all customers, third party and regulatory requirements and for upholding the relevant strategies and objectives defined by the Quality department.

Responsibilities include:

  • Carry out first off, FAIRS and batch inspections on a daily basis.
  • Ensure all non-conforming work is segregated and clearly identified and reported to MRB via the NCR process.
  • Ensure all documentation and calibration of equipment is current and correct.
  • Provide assistance with technical disputes with other department managers and operators.
  • Ensure full compliance of ISO 9001: 2008 & AS9100 standards and in line with customer approvals.
  • Help in identifying continuous improvement techniques to aid in achieving department/ business objectives.
  • Support system improvement project teams to ensure product flow is maintained and best practices are instigated.
  • Uphold processes to ensure Health, Safety and Environmental best practices are adhered to.
  • Any other duties as are assigned from time to time that are commensurate with the level of the role. 

 

The Person 

The Quality Inspector will have experience operating in a precision manufacturing environment utilising a wide range of hand metrology equipment to a high standard.  You shall have the ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings combined with a broad knowledge of manufacturing methods, quality systems and associated documentation.

The successful incumbent will have a good understanding of AS9100 and ISO9001 quality standards and be able to accurately update MRP/ERP systems at an inspection level. Experience of Epicor, SAP or Sage would be a distinct advantage but not essential.
